42 years after Nikos Zachariadis death-murder in exile

“On the 1st of August of 1973, the Khrushchevite leader L. Brezhnev committed a crime that the Hitlerite invaders didn’t dare to commit. (note: Zachariades was prisoner of the Nazis during the period 1941-1945 and held in Dachau concentration camp) With the aid of KGB they murdered N. Zachariadis, the prominent leader of KKE and member of the EC of the Communist International. I recall tha Charilaos Florakis presented this a suicide...

Ther is also the opinion that, as long as N. Zachariadias was alive, the KKE could not stand in Greece. It turns out that Charilaos Florakis agreed with the Khrushchevite leadership to that action if he did not call for this murder himself.

At any rate, Char. Florakis was the instigator of Nikos Zachariades’ murder” (N. Kepesis, “Questions on facts and people”, pp. 45-45, Athens 2006)

WE DEMAND THAT THE SOCIAL-DEMOCRATIC LEADERS OF “K”KE-SYNASPISMOS PUBLISH ALL ARCHIVES RELATED TO ZACHARIADIS.

WE DEMAND THAT ALL ARCHIVED  RELATED ON THE PERSECUTIONS OF THE REVOLUTIONATY COMMUNISTS, ON THE PRESECUTIONS AND THE MURDER OF THE LEADER OF KKE ARE DECLASSIFIED AND GIVEN TO THE PUBLIC.*

WE DEMAND THAT ALL TESTIMONIES OF THE ANTI-FASCISTS AND THE COMMUNISTS GIVEN IN THE 1957 “COMMITTE” ON NIKOS ZACHARIADIS STANCE IN DACHAU CONCENTRATION CAMP ARE GIVEN TO THE PUBLIC.

* Natalia Tomilina, the director of the Russian State Archives, in the spring of 2000 made the following statement: “Not all evidence pertaining Nikos Zachariadis has been published and, especially, the documents related to the circumstances of his death. These documents have been classified as top secret and no access to them is allowed until they are declassified.” (Lefteris Apostolou “Nikos Zachariades”, p. 15, Filistor, 2000).
