Budget vote in Parliament set for Wednesday. GSEE-ADEDY started today (Tuesday) their 48-hour strike.
CBC (UPI) reports:
The last two-day general strike called for by Greek unions was in 1974, although 24-hour work stoppages have been much more common with seven already staged in the past 12 months, The New York Times reported.
The strike has already halted public transportation in Athens, although the subways are still running -- a concession made so protesters could get around the city, the Times said.
